Love Thaws...

It has been SO very long since I've been active in the digi-scrap community and that makes me very sad!  I can't wait for the annual Mousescrappers speed scrap marathon coming up in two weekends because that is always the push I need after such a long hiatus to get some scrapping done and reconnect with the community.

I HAVE, however, been working on a new FREE kit.  We are absolute Frozen fans in this house - we ALL sing the songs by heart, even my husband, and it's been a very appropriate frenzy considering even here in Florida we've had SNOW and ICICLES hanging from our rooftops!  Crazy winter vortex....

Anyway, this kit is the perfect blend of winter and summer and includes a full alpha and solid papers as well. Here is a page I made with a photo I took of my friend's daughters dressed up in their Elsa & Anna costumes...

And here is a preview (just a small sampling) of what's included in the kit:!

I hope you enjoy and STAY WARM this winter!
Hope to see you all at the speed scrap marathon (Feb 7-9th!)
Love, Ali

Superheros Unite!

It's here!  Michelle's newest kit, Mightiest Heros, has arrived on planet earth and has become a part of a bigger universe (do you reconize that line?)!  Here are some more sneak peeks from the kit:

Here are some layouts I created using her new kit:

And of course, I'll be using this kit for sure to scrap some movie premier fun after seeing the newest Ironman movie tonight!

And as always, some of Michelle's mighty mouseketeers have whipped up some freebies for you: zoom over to Holly's,Cheryl's, and Karrie's blog to pick them up today!

And don't forget to snatch up the kit for yourself over at Mad for the Mouse!  Now excuse me, I'm off to save the world....

How "Devine"

So today I used inspiration from this template challenge to create a layout on the ever so lovely MISS DEVINE in Animal Kingdom.  My family and I had never, ever heard of her before so as we were strolling along through the park, we noticed a group of people gathering and staring at a bunch of bushes.  Our curiosity peaked, we warily wandered over and much to our surprise, the "bunch of bushes" was moving and doing handstands and arabesques.  It was actually a lady, dressed head to toe in garb of vines & grapes, on stilts!  She was so graceful and elegant, we could have watched her forever!  I'm so glad I snapped some photos of her because it's definitely a memory I want to keep alive and fresh in our minds!  Here is my layout:

My newest digi-scrap obsession is vellum-like paper pockets.  Perfect for adding just a touch of pizzazz to any journal card and making your layout really pop and seem more "realistic".  Here is a closeup of the paper pocket I used on this LO:

And so in honor of the beautiful Miss DeVine and all things lovely, I've created a small little pack of vellum paper pockets for you titled "Vellumptuous Pockets" lol

Karate Chop!

So this past weekend was a complete BLUR of non-stop speed scrapping over at Mousescrappers!  One of the templates I created was of the scenery we saw while wandering through Animal Kingdom.   It had a very Asian feel to it and I needed an alpha inspired by the East so.... I created it! Here is my LO:

Can you spot the alpha I created?  Here is the preview:

Simply click on the image to download the alpha!  And remember these words, young grasshopper, WAX ON, WAX OFF!

Princesses Galore!

Finally got to scrapping pages from our trip to Cinderella's Royal Table back in March.  We visited with the most popular princesses of them all and had SUCH a blast!  Here's a view at them now; May all your dreams come true!

Part of Your World...

I currently have a set of Disney themed watercolor strokes up as prize for the Sept/Oct Photo Scavenger Hunt at Mousescrappers.  Here is a preview of the PP:

Here is a layout I made using one of the mouse ears strokes and the mermaid stroke:

You can download these watercolor brush strokes HERE  but I encourage you, if you are going to be visiting ANY of the Disney parks during the months of September/October, feel free to still participate in the Photo Scavenger Hunt!  I will post a copy of the hunt here within the week, as I am leaving on my own trip to Disney World next Thursday!! Yay!

Haircuts for a Song

So, we're not CRAZY Disney people (no offense to anyone who claims to be...) but we sure do love it there.  My husband and I claim to just be kids at heart - we went to WDW a handful of times before taking kids (including a one day stopover after our honeymoon!)  so when we made the jump to do the "big family trip" after having our last child, we figured we had to do it right.  And that included having our youngest's FIRST HAIRCUT done at Magic Kingdom, at the Harmony Barber Shop!  Unfortunately, there were no dapper dans on hand to sing us a song but it was still oh so cute and it's a memory that WE, as Lulu's parents, will treasure forever and love retelling to her over and over!   Here are the pages I scrapped of that experience:

Baby, You're a Firework!

{courtesy of Britt-ish Designs}

To celebrate this beautiful Independence Day, I entered the monthly flashback challenge over at Britt-ish Designs, since it was all Patriotic themed based on her kit, "Made in America"!   I didn't really have a good photo of the three kids yet as last year, Lulu was still SO tiny (2.5 months old) and a family portrait just didn't happen.  But I had all sorts of photos from Ava's past fourth of July holidays so I mashed those together and created this LO!

Keep your fingers crossed for a winning layout! :)

A Pirate's Life for Me!

I finally got around to scrapping FOUR pages of Ethan's pirate transformation at the Pirate's League this past March!  It was part of his 8th birthday present that he got to do this while we visited Magic Kingdom - the whole process is super fun!  He got to spin a old boat wheel in order to "let destiny choose his pirate name" which ended up being "James Keelkidd".  I took a photo of his certificate - it was even signed by Captain Jack Sparrow himself! *wink wink*

From there he went on into the makeover room where he had a veteran pirate transform him.  He then took the pirate's oath (which the hilarious makeup artist first said quickly in Spanish - leaving Ethan completely dazed and confused!  We all laughed as she slowly repeated it in English).   From there he was shown some swashbuckling moves and ushered into the private room to have his portait taken and shown the secrets of the pirate's treasures!  We promised we wouldn't tell a soul!  Here are the pages I scrapped of this scurvy adventure!

'start at the beginning, and when you come to the end, stop'

Thought this page was an appropriate way to start off the blog.  Excited to take this next step in my digi-scrapping journey.  Alice in Wonderland is one of my utmost favorite childhood story/fairy-tale and love to play off of it with my name.  Besides that, with three kids running around while being a work-at-home mom sometimes makes me feel like I'm going completely "mad"!  Digi-scrapping is a lovely little relief to my imagination, I get to flex my digital design skills a little and escape to an other-world where my mind can just play and relax.  Not everything I scrap is Disney-related but we are a Disney-family for sure, so it's a ever present theme.  Grab a cuppa joe or a spot o' tea and hope you enjoy your stay!!
