The Doc is In!

Hi all!  I am so super stoked to have created my VERY FIRST kit!  I was aiming for a mini kit originally but ended up with almost a full kit with a full alpha as well!

My daughter, Ava is a HUGE Doc McStuffins fan and I couldn't find anything I really liked to go with any possible LO's I might create for her.  So "The Doc is In" was created!



I am really excited to announce that I will be giving the kit away in the February 2013 Kit Challenge over at Mousescrappers and a coordinating add-on (which I will post a preview for soon...) here on the blog!

A Pirate's Life for Me!

I finally got around to scrapping FOUR pages of Ethan's pirate transformation at the Pirate's League this past March!  It was part of his 8th birthday present that he got to do this while we visited Magic Kingdom - the whole process is super fun!  He got to spin a old boat wheel in order to "let destiny choose his pirate name" which ended up being "James Keelkidd".  I took a photo of his certificate - it was even signed by Captain Jack Sparrow himself! *wink wink*


From there he went on into the makeover room where he had a veteran pirate transform him.  He then took the pirate's oath (which the hilarious makeup artist first said quickly in Spanish - leaving Ethan completely dazed and confused!  We all laughed as she slowly repeated it in English).   From there he was shown some swashbuckling moves and ushered into the private room to have his portait taken and shown the secrets of the pirate's treasures!  We promised we wouldn't tell a soul!  Here are the pages I scrapped of this scurvy adventure!

Three for one!

So, I recently came to my senses and realized I wasn't making ANY progress on scrapping our March 2012  WDW trip. So, I took a "trip" to Mousescrappers to see if there were any interesting challenges to participate in to get my creative juices flowing!  Hooray for three!  The first one was a Scraplift challenge and I chose to scraplift a LO that used both B&W AND color pop elements in one single photo.  The photo I chose to scrap was taken while visiting "Morocco" in Epcot park and thought that the effect worked well with the theme of the LO!

The second challenge was for a Template challenge, which I always love because I get a new template to play with in the process!  I used photos from the new movie "Brave" and from when Ava and I went to see it the other night.  We LOVED it! Then again, you can read more about it below...

The third and final challenge I chose this week was the Weekly Challenge!  Those are always fun because you never know what exactly the challenges will be as it varies week from week.  The hostess this time decided to focus on the "4th of July" and make it all about "fours".  We had to use four of this and four of that (but only ONE hidden Mickey!).  I tried to get as creative as I could, including use the word "thump" four times somewhere on the LO - both in the journaling and in the title!  I used photos from when we met Miss Bunny at Camp Minnie-Mickey.  Read on below:
