Love Thaws...

It has been SO very long since I've been active in the digi-scrap community and that makes me very sad!  I can't wait for the annual Mousescrappers speed scrap marathon coming up in two weekends because that is always the push I need after such a long hiatus to get some scrapping done and reconnect with the community.

I HAVE, however, been working on a new FREE kit.  We are absolute Frozen fans in this house - we ALL sing the songs by heart, even my husband, and it's been a very appropriate frenzy considering even here in Florida we've had SNOW and ICICLES hanging from our rooftops!  Crazy winter vortex....

Anyway, this kit is the perfect blend of winter and summer and includes a full alpha and solid papers as well. Here is a page I made with a photo I took of my friend's daughters dressed up in their Elsa & Anna costumes...

And here is a preview (just a small sampling) of what's included in the kit:!

I hope you enjoy and STAY WARM this winter!
Hope to see you all at the speed scrap marathon (Feb 7-9th!)
Love, Ali

TWO new kits from Mad for the Mouse!!!

A little while ago there was a request for a kit themed for the Art of Animation. I had plans to make a small kit based on art and the four movies portrayed at the resort, that didn't last too long. I Heart My Teacher

It's Teacher Appreciation week and I've created a fun wordart for you to use! (I used Britt-ish Design's mini kit "Class Cupid to create it).

I, personally, used it as a header for a fun fill-in-the-blank letter each of my children will fill out and give to their teacher at the end of the week after they've given her all their little presents each day!

You can download it HERE!

The Mother Load!

So, recently I've really gotten into the pocket style digi Project Life.  I know, I know.  One more thing to add to my plate!  But I feel like I "caught the bug" just in time as I've been able to catch up fairly quickly and I'm almost completely up to current weeks.  Eventually, I want to get to where I scrap my "two pages" or whatever for the week every Sunday!  I've been overwhelmed with the amount of resources and freebies available out there floating on the WWW as well as all the current PL products that I "NEED" to have! I've found that if I like something enough but don't want to shell out the cash for it, I'll kind of make my own version of something (just for myself, of course!) until I can start acquiring stuff and afford it.  One of the main things I found I needed was a variety of templates that had the rounded corner style I loved and were fairly simplistic and versatile.  SO, I did make a "mother load" of those and I'm making them available as a freebie download for you today!  You can find them at the bottom of this post.  I'd love to share some of the layouts I've created so far.  I've "Scraplifted" a couple of them from designers I admire and others I just went with a theme based on one particular photo or element that I loved.  The more I do it, the more comfortable I get with using my own style and remembering what I already have in my PL stash!

Here are just a few of my favorites from the beginning of the year up to about 2 weeks ago:

 WEEK ONE:

WEEK FOUR (2 PAGE SPREAD):

WEEK FIVE (2 PAGE SPREAD):

WEEK SEVEN:

WEEK 8, WEEKEND PAGES (2 PAGE SPREAD):
(It was SUCH a big weekend full of SO many pictures, I couldn't NOT incorporate it into my PL)

That's all I have so far.  Of course I have the weeks in between that I do love, but I thought instead of bogging you down, I'd just share my faves ;)

You can follow me on FLICKR to view updated PL layouts and stay in the loop!

And for making it to the end of this post, here is your freebie!! These layouts are in no way perfect so don't judge me if you find an imperfection.  Just thought I'd share instead of keeping them to myself!

Be Very Afraid!

I am SO excited about Michelle's newest kit, "Drop into the Zone" - it gives you literally everything you need to create super awesome layouts of my personal most favorite ride at Disney: Tower of Terror!  If you love chills and thrills, this kit and its coordinating features are most definitely for you!  Here are the layouts I made with her newest addition:

This one was a little bit more dark and spooky - perfect to capture a ride that my girlfriend and I rode TWICE on our last stint at Disney World (during the Princess Half Marathon weekend!)

I had to do one for the photo I captured of Ava doing her "peace sign" in front of the tower the last time she rode on it.  She rode both in March AND September of last year - she was THREE years old the first time and FOUR years old the second time and she still LOVES that ride! She is such a thrill seeker, just like her daddy!!

Here are some previews of what's in store for you over at Michelle's place:

The Mad for the Mouse team has a few freebies for you too!
Your freebies can be found here at the end of this post and ALSO at Holly's Blog, and Christy's Blog, Karrie's Blog and of course Cheryl's Blog!!
Hope you have as much
fun with this kit as the girls did!! Make sure you stop by
Mad for the Mouse to get this awesome kit!!

Be My WingSister!

It's here! Mousescrapper's February Design Challenge blog hop is finally here!  I was so excited to finally take part is this challenge - I chose to go along with the color scheme with an underlying tone from the movie "Secret of the Wings".  My girls LOVE that movie and I love the sisterly morals within it and how it reminds me of my girls - of the same family (or same baby's first laugh) yet SO very different and unique in their own special ways!

Here is the preview of my portion of the challenge kit:

I created this layout with this kit from when we visited the Pixie Hollow and Winter Woods at last year's Flower & Garden Festival in Epcot:

Here is more previews of the other submissions for DC#9:

And for reading this whole post you get a fun add-on! Haha  Click on the image below for your blog hop
freebie!

Here are all the other gals participating in the blog hop - Have fun riding the freebie train!

This Princess Is Getting Her Crown!

One more sleep and I leave for the most magical place on earth - Walt Disney World!  I'll be there for four days and one of those days I will be doing something I never EVER thought I'd be saying I'd be doing - running a race!  A half marathon at that!  The Princess Half Marathon is on Sunday and for the first time in my life, I will be running 13.1 miles (actually, I'm doing a run 3min/walk 2min at an average of 14mpm pace)!       I tease my friend whom I'm going with that the dreaded "balloon truck" will be chasing my tail the whole way probably - but as long as I make it over that finish line and get the treasured tiara medal, I'll be happy as a bee in a field of sunflowers!!!  I'll be documenting my whole trip with Instagram (instead of my baby, Stella, my Canon 50D).  Here are just a few I've taken in preparation:

Our race route - whew that's a LONG run!!!

Practicing my princess poses.  I am making tutus for myself and my two girlfriends who I am traveling with - we're going to be ALL dolled up!

Only ONE more sleep!!!  Can't wait to see those famed fireworks!

Getting in some last minute snuggles with my baby boo before I leave her for 4 days.  I'm a ball of bittersweet emotions!!

In honor of the upcoming race, I made a little mini kit called "Run Like a Princess".  It's a super fun kit based on bright, modern colors with some fun "running" elements.  However, it is also SUPER versatile and can be used for any theme you choose!

Simply click on the preview to download:

I am also hosting a Weekly Challenge over at Mousescrappers starting next Wednesday (February 26) and it will be all PRINCESS themed!  Hop on over to participate and win these coordinating word art stamps!  They come in black and can be easily customized with color and or texture to create fun word art!

To follow my adventures on Instagram, look me up under the name "plumbphotography". Alright friends, off to pack and prepare - wish me LUCK! See you at the FINISH LINE!!!

How "Devine"

So today I used inspiration from this template challenge to create a layout on the ever so lovely MISS DEVINE in Animal Kingdom.  My family and I had never, ever heard of her before so as we were strolling along through the park, we noticed a group of people gathering and staring at a bunch of bushes.  Our curiosity peaked, we warily wandered over and much to our surprise, the "bunch of bushes" was moving and doing handstands and arabesques.  It was actually a lady, dressed head to toe in garb of vines & grapes, on stilts!  She was so graceful and elegant, we could have watched her forever!  I'm so glad I snapped some photos of her because it's definitely a memory I want to keep alive and fresh in our minds!  Here is my layout:

My newest digi-scrap obsession is vellum-like paper pockets.  Perfect for adding just a touch of pizzazz to any journal card and making your layout really pop and seem more "realistic".  Here is a closeup of the paper pocket I used on this LO:

And so in honor of the beautiful Miss DeVine and all things lovely, I've created a small little pack of vellum paper pockets for you titled "Vellumptuous Pockets" lol
